Whiskers & Paws Luxury Cat Resort

Whiskers and Paws is a purpose-built boutique cattery in sunny Hawkes Bay. Our facilities are warm, comfortable and hygienic. The building is built to residential building code standards and is positioned for all day sun, fully insulated, double glazed, with HRV system and ceiling heat panels to ensure adequate air flow and warmth during the colder months. The entire facility is safe and secure with CCTV cameras and fire/intruder alarm. We offer a range of options to ensure every cat can be comfortable during their stay. We have 5 luxury suites, 10 studios and 3 separate semi communal rooms with guest pods, all offering comfortable accommodation. We can care for kittens, older cats and cats with health issues. All luxury suites, studios and semi communal rooms have indoor and outdoor areas, along with climbing frames, toys, and music throughout the day, with sunny shelves to watch the rural aspect with many birds, chooks, and the occasional bunny to add interest.. It is our passion to ensure that your cat's home away from home is peaceful, comfortable and enjoyable. Inspections are welcome by appointment. Whiskers and Paws is run by Carole Malone and Kim Shannon. Carole has a background in nursing and midwifery, SPCA volunteer work and has been a cat lover all her life. Kim has a rural/farming/real estate background and has always enjoyed having pets. Carole & Kim are owned by two cats-Smokey and Bandit (brothers) who arrived at 3 weeks of age when Carole was fostering kittens for the local SPCA. Needless to say they purred their way into our lives and never left! We live onsite and manage the apple orchard and the resort, so we can easily provide services from early morning to late at night. We are a member of International Boarding and Pet Services Association- this means the cat resort meets high standards of hygiene, design and exercise areas. All our staff are vet nurse trained or are in training and everyone has current pet first aid certification.
